Boston Celtics at Los Angeles Clippers — November 11th, 2019

Now I get it, the Boston Celtics lost in this outing against the Los Angeles Clippers. However, we would be remiss to not include this game on a list of the best games of the year for this franchise.

We were one of the first people to say it: this is was the game of the year!

I mean, how could it not be? It had everything you wanted from an action packed primetime game: grit, grind, ankle breakers, clutch shots/ blocks, etc.

This was the game that was Jayson Tatum’s coming out party in 2019-20. Sure, at the time the Celtics were 11-2 up until this point, proving they were playing like a well oiled machine. However, prior to this outing Tatum, though still having an impressive start to the season, was playing somewhat inconsistently…

Until this game.

On the night, Tatum put up 30 points, six rebounds, two steals and two blocks on 50 percent shooting from the floor and 50 percent shooting from deep, one of said threes came within 20 seconds left in regulation after crossing up perennial All-Star and All-Defensive First Team wing Paul George to tie the game up at 97 a piece.

The game came down to the final shot that ultimately led to the Clippers victory, as Kawhi Leonard managed to block Kemba Walker’s game tying 3-point attempt at the buzzer.

From the introduction to Tatum’s crossover game to one of the greatest saves you’ll ever see by Marcus Smart, this contest against the Los Angeles Clippers had just about everything… except for a Boston Celtics victory.

Either way, it was a great game and, frankly, a must watch on League Pass.
