Jarrett Allen

The final name here would be a glove fit for the young Boston Celtics core of Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum and Marcus Smart. The foursome, all drafted from 2014-2017, would set the team up for success for the next half decade or more.

Allen would not only help the team’s long-term prospect, but he would be a perfect compliment to either Enes Kanter or Daniel Theis in the rotation, assuming one of them is part of a potential deal for Allen.

Allen’s having a career-best year in 2019-20, with his points (11.1), rebounds (9.7), assists (1.4) and blocks (1.5) all tying or surpassing his single-season best stats. Better yet, his efficiency (64 percent from the field) is also his best output yet.

According to the New York Post’s Brian Lewis, Allen is the team’s star performer this season (relative to expectations of course):

"The Nets have always been besotted with Allen, but now he’s living up to that potential, his improved rebounding (9.7 boards) closer to the level of his roll game and rim protection. They even turned down an offer for him that would’ve netted them Clint Capela."

That last line indicates that Sean Marks may be reluctant to part with Allen, but again, to reference a potential swap involving Hayward/Dinwiddie and/or LeVert, perhaps Allen could be had as an add-in to a larger deal.

Danny Ainge has swindled the Nets before…why not try again? The three Nets that just hit the trade market would all be positive contributors for the Boston Celtics in 2020-21 and beyond.
