2. New York Knicks

With the New York Knicks dismissing president of operations Steve Mills, it was unknown whether or not the team had what it took to make deals considering the team literally did not have someone making personnel decisions in the front office.

They have since tabbed Leon Rose of Creative Arts Agency as their new president of basketball operations. With a new figurehead in place, the Knicks figure to hop back in on the wheeling and dealing.

So far, the Knicks have been linked to names like D’Angelo Russell and Kyle Kuzma. Both of those players could conceivably end up in New York, and that wouldn’t stop the team from being a good trading match with the Boston Celtics.

The Knicks are not short on young talent, though  you wouldn’t know from the team playing veterans with no future with the franchise instead on a daily basis.

Damyean Dotson, Alonzo Trier and Dennis Smith Jr. would each add something to the Celtics second unit, and each could be acquirable for a low price, considering how marginalized all three have become in the rotation.

With the Knicks in rebuilding mode, any picks should help them. With Rose now in the front office, perhaps there could be a sell-off. In that scenario, the Boston Celtics could be in a good position to pounce.
