Andre Drummond

Now here’s a name Boston Celtics fans have heard on the trade rumor-mill quiet often recently. Andre Drummond is without a doubt one of the best centers in the NBA as well as one of the best players rumored to be on the trade block in 2019-20.

Earlier this month, reports came out that the Detroit Pistons were shopping the All-Star big man, and “several teams” were reportedly interested in engaging in trade talks — this list included the likes of the Celtics.

And, frankly, for good reason.

As mentioned in the intro slide, Boston’s center rotation is quite underwhelming and could use for improvements if the team truly wishes to be legitimate contenders.

Why wouldn’t they try and nab — for the right cost — one of the best talents at the pivot spot if they could?

Drummond has been on an absolute tear in 2019-20. Through 40 games, the center is averaging 17.3 points, 15.7 rebounds, 1.8 blocks and two steals a game on 53% shooting from the field.

Fans recently saw Drummond square off against the Celtics and, to their displeasure, witnessed him stuff the stat-sheet to the tune of 13 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists, three steals and one block on a superb 100% shooting from the floor and record a box +/- of 26.

Adding a player of Drummond’s status at a position they truly need improvements at would be an unbelievable plus for the Shamrocks squad looking to make noise come playoff time. A package consisting of Gordon Hayward to make the numbers work and perhaps adding in Robert Williams and a couple of future first round picks could be enough to bring the eight-year veteran to Beantown.
