Tristan Thompson

A very interesting name that keeps popping up due to the embarrassing futility of his franchise is 2016 NBA Champion and Rich Paul client Tristan Thompson. Recently, Thompson’s Cavaliers entered the national discussion–despite its losing record–because of comments from coach John Beilein.

In calling his players “thugs”, while later saying he meant to say “slugs”, the dysfunction of a franchise that was only ever relevant because the game’s greatest talent was born nearby has taken center stage.

Thompson, ever the team player (unless that team includes Khloe Kardashian) defended his coach with the most politically correct thing to say:

"“At the end of the day, he’s our head coach,” Thompson said after Cleveland’s win over the Pistons last night. “We’re the players, and have to go out there and play and do our job at the end of the day. So, that’s all that matters.”"

In addition to being a master deflector and not getting sucked into any bait by the reporter who asked him about the situation off the floor, Thompson is having a career year on the hardwood. Averaging a career-high 13 points and 10.6 rebounds, he would be the perfect guy to do the dirty work down low for the Boston Celtics.

Unlike Favors, Thompson may be giving up Theis and Kanter. He has played big minutes on a championship team, and he was arguably the second best teammate of LeBron James on the 2015 Cavaliers team that fell two games short of an NBA championship.
