January

Playoff teams = 8

Non-playoff teams = 8

Total games = 16

I’m confident in saying this is Boston’s easiest stretch of the entire season as far as quality of opponent. Opening the month with the Hawks, Bulls, and Wizards shouldn’t be too much of a challenge, although the ascension of Trae Young and the Hawks is something to keep an eye on.

One downside is there won’t be many days off in January, which somewhat offsets the luxury of playing lesser opponents.

A back to back vs San Antonio and at Philadelphia will be a nice little challenge for the team before its return to easy street for a three game home stand against the Pelicans, Bulls, and Pistons.

Attention Bostonians! If you want to see what the Zion hype train is all about, January 11th is your day!

About a week later the Celtics and Lakers are set for the first matchup of the year on the 20th, and Anthony Davis’ first appearance in Boston since all the trade rumors.

Lastly, there is a peculiar three game stretch from the 24th-28th where Boston flies to Florida to play Orlando, then goes to New Orleans to play the Pelicans, only to come back to Florida for a game against Miami.
