Kyrie Irving is expected to play Saturday vs the Chicago Bulls, but Aron Baynes will likely miss the game with a sprained ankle. Here’s the Boston Celtics news in the morning.

The Boston Celtics head to Chicago for a Saturday night showdown with the Bulls, looking for their fifth consecutive win. Chicago is 6-20, 1-1 after firing Fred Hoiberg and naming Jim Boylen the interim head coach.

After rolling his left ankle Thursday, Aron Baynes is listed as doubtful for the Chicago game and will be reevaluated prior to the Pelicans game Monday.

Notably absent from the injury report is Kyrie Irving, who is expected to play following what Irving called a ‘weird play’ involving his shoulder’s AC joint toward the end of the Knicks game.

Jaylen Brown scored a season-high 21 points in his return against the New York Knicks, coming off the bench alongside Gordon Hayward. Hayward has been starring as the Celtics sixth man since coach Stevens decided to bring him off the bench.

Both Brown and Hayward will likely continue to come off the bench while Marcus Morris and Marcus Smart remain in the starting lineup at least until Boston loses with the new lineup. Boston has won all four of its game since Morris and Smart moved into the starting lineup.

Lauri Markkanen hit a game-winning layup for the Bulls Friday, but hurt his elbow in the game. He will receive treatment but should play against Boston. Markkanen has played just two games since making his season debut in return from injury.
