Brad Stevens is known throughout the NBA as a basketball genius. His basketball IQ is at an elite level and he has done an excellent job during his tenure as head coach with the Boston Celtics.

Coach Stevens is a hoops savant. He has an incredible knowledge for the game because he has been around it for a very long time. Brad started his head coaching career at Butler University, where he led the Bulldogs to an NCAA Tournament appearance in five of the six years that he coached there. During his inaugural season at Butler, the 31-year-old Stevens became the third youngest Division I coach ever to reach 30 wins.

The success that Brad Stevens had in college followed him when he joined the Boston Celtics. When he was named as the new head coach during the summer of 2013, Brad was not a household name. Despite his success, he did not receive much national attention because Butler is not a big name school. But once Stevens started to establish himself with the Celtics, his greatness began to get recognized.

Stevens has led Boston to a better regular season record during each of the five seasons as head coach. The Celtics were rebuilding during his first year and they ended up only winning 25 games, but the front office remained confident in his abilities. Danny Ainge’s confidence in his team’s coach at the time is a testament to this well run organization.

Brad has led Boston to the playoffs during each of the past four seasons and during the last two seasons the team played in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Celtics have a great chance of winning even more games during next regular season, which is why Stevens has a phenomenal chance at winning the Coach of the Year Award.

With Gordon Hayward returning to a team that won 55 games, it is reasonable to believe that next years group could win over 60 games. Boston has a great chance at ending up with the best record in the Eastern Conference, and possibly even the entire NBA. With Brad Stevens at the helm, the Celtics will dominate the regular season.

In conclusion, Stevens seems to currently be the favorite to win the Coach of the Year Award. Boston is an extremely talented team that wants to prove that they can compete with the likes of the Golden State Warriors, so expect their win total to be comparable to the Warriors.
