Boston Celtics: How can Terry Rozier Sustain his Production from the Postseason?

Scary Terry balled out during last postseason. His confidence was at an all-time high and he stepped up to the challenge of being the starting point guard for the Boston Celtics.

Once it was announced that Kyrie Irving would miss the entirety of the playoffs with a knee injury, pressure was instantly put on Terry Rozier. The Louisville product showed flashes throughout the year, but overall Rozier was very inconsistent.

During the regular season Terry averaged a solid eleven points per game on 38 percent shooting from three.

Once the postseason started against the Milwaukee Bucks, the young stud showed out. Rozier proceeded to captivate the Garden crowd by scoring 23 points and hitting four shots from beyond the arc in Game 1.

At times Terry struggled on the road during the playoffs, but overall he was excellent for Boston. There were multiple occasions throughout the postseason in which Scary Terry was among the leading scorers on the team. He provided a scoring punch that the Boston Celtics desperately needed without Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward.

Terry Rozier had a terrific postseason, and the good news is that he can definitely sustain this high level of play. Statistically though, his numbers will likely take a dip.

For the postseason he averaged sixteen points per game along with over five rebounds and nearly six assists. These numbers would be very difficult to emulate next season because he will not be playing 37 minutes a game like he did during the postseason.

He may not be able to continue putting up his postseason numbers, but Rozier can certainly become more consistent. His confidence is sky high after such a great postseason, and this will lead to Terry being a more reliable player.

Also, expect a more aggressive Terry Rozier next season. At times during the regular season he was passive when his shots weren’t falling, but now he is a more fearless player. It seems as if Rozier is no longer worried about missing shots or making mistakes.

In conclusion, expect a very consistent and reliable Terry Rozier next season. He will be able to sustain his improved level of play by being a more aggressive and confident player.
