Even after his departure, Boston Celtics fans will continue to root for Isaiah Thomas
Even if he is no longer a part of the team, Boston Celtics fans will never have a problem rooting for Isaiah Thomas. He gave the fans one of the most special experiences in the NBA with the Celtics, and earned a lot more credit than he is getting paid for right now.
Thomas meant everything to this franchise, and gave them more than anyone can possibly expect. Every single Celtics fan wanted to see Thomas succeed, and get what he fought harder than anyone else to earn.
After that MVP candidate season, Thomas was looking to make over a hundred million. After seeing him settle for a veteran minimum, nothing outside the Celtics organization will make Celtics fans happier than seeing Thomas succeed with the Denver Nuggets.

Fortunately, he landed in a good spot this season. The worst part with Thomas is it is easy for fans to feel bad. He deserved better than what he got, and was shipped away to the worst possible situation.
Thomas was trapped and could not succeed, while coming off of a serious injury. Thomas fell in a way that no one wanted to see, and any time a fan thinks back to what he did for this franchise, it always hurts a bit to think Thomas has to start all the way back here again, needing to prove everyone wrong.
Keep in mind, Thomas’ impact on this franchise was more than the emotion and sacrifice. He is no longer a part of it, but Thomas was absolutely crucial to the rebuild. He was a big reason they accelerated things, and became a playoff team when they should not have been.
He made the Celtics a much stronger free agent destination, and could be one of the biggest reasons Al Horford was brought in.
Thomas impacted the Celtics in profound ways and, as much as anyone else, deserved to reap the rewards of this rebuild. Now, while the Celtics are sitting in one of the best positions in the NBA, Thomas does not get to enjoy any of it.

It will be great to see him in a well functioning offense again, having an impact on a playoff contending team. Who knows if Thomas will ever be that same player we saw have one of the all time greatest offensive seasons, but there is no doubt that Celtics fans will be keeping an eye on Thomas as he tries to overcome the next obstacle in one of the most remarkable careers of this generation.
