When healthy, Gordon Hayward is a top twenty player in this league. His unique skill set will prove to be tremendously helpful to the Boston Celtics next season.
Gordon Hayward has always been grossly underrated. Due to Hayward’s traumatic injury during opening night of last season, fans of the Boston Celtics were not able to witness his greatness.
Hayward has been unfairly criticized and fans on Twitter have been begging the Celtics to trade him in a package deal for star players such as Kawhi Leonard.
As a member of the Utah Jazz two seasons ago, Hayward was terrific. The forward averaged 21.9 points per game along with 47% from the field and nearly 40% from beyond the arc.

He established himself as a star and arguably the most underrated player in basketball. Gordon also had his share of postseason heroics, averaging 24 points per game during the postseason and leading the Jazz to the second round of the playoffs.
Adding an elite player like Hayward will do wonders for this basketball team. He will draw a lot of attention from the defense which takes pressure off players like Al and Kyrie.
Hayward’s presence will allow for more open looks for the entire team. Also, getting to the basket and finishing is something that Gordon is skilled at which is invaluable in the NBA.
Along with his offensive skill set, Hayward is also a very solid defender. Gordon’s long 6’8″ frame allows for him to defend multiple positions, which is crucial to the way that the Celtics play.
For his size he is very agile which allows him to stay in front of his man. Hayward possesses the necessary skills to be successful on both ends of the floor for the Celtics.

It is unfair that some fans of the Celtics do not have belief in Gordon Hayward. He has stated that he expects to be fully healthy by next season and ready for training camp. There is no reason not to believe that Hayward will return to his all-star form.
