Boston Celtics with worst game of the series as Bucks force game 7
The Boston Celtics saved their worst performance for the most important game, and the Milwaukee Bucks force a game seven
The Boston Celtics went into game six knowing they needed more offense than game five, while repeating their best defenisve performance of the series. Not only was their defense not as good, but their offense somehow managed to get even worse.
They were out of rhythm and taking bad shots, and when the open look was there, nobody was able to hit it on a regular basis. The Milwaukee Bucks were able to disrupt a lot more than the Celtics were, and they executed at a much higher level.
The Celtics have been inconsistent all year long, so this game should not be too much of a surprise. We have seen them play like this before, but this is the first time it has been this bad in the playoffs.
Jayson Tatum was probably the lone bright spot, but he still did not assert himself enough as the rest of the team struggled. Terry Rozier hit some shots, but he also took way too many bad shots. The Celtics had far too many liabilities, and nobody did anything to make up for it.

The Celtics will be comfortable heading home, and there could be some positive in the idea that the Celtics will not have another game where they play this poorly. That being said, game sevens are too weird to trust anything, and the Celtics will regret blowing an opportunity here.
The Celtics had their worst game of the series, and were mediocre at best on both ends. Despite that, they still had an opportunity to go on a run and get a chance in the fourth. Unfortunately, they could not hit any trees late, and when those are the only shots you are taking, there is not going to be much success.
The Celtics have seen this story before, with the home team taking each of the first six games. They have bounced back from a game six loss before, but you never want to do into a sudden death situation when the opponent has someone like Giannis Antetokounmpo, who can take over any one game more than anyone else in this series.
The Celtics know what they have to do to bounce back, and much of this season was defined by their ability to bounce back from bad loses. The Celtics had a lot of lows this season, but they never let it derail them too much.
Now they are in the do or die situation. They know that they were good enough to end this series quicker, but in a season that forced them to bounce back from more adversity than any other team, it is fitting that they put up their worst game of the playoffs in game six, leading to a much anticipate game seven in TD Garden.
The Celtics still have a lot of things to figure out, but they also know they do not need to be perfect to win this series. Even in this one, where they were a disaster for the vast majority of the game, they still had an opportunity.
The Celtics still are probably not at a point where you can expect a great game on both ends, but they need to get an advantage with their biggest strength. Once again, the Bucks were better from three point range, and for the first time the Celtics can put that all on their offense.
Next: Jayson Tatum needs to stay assertive
You cannot expect to win a game when your defense holds the opponent to 30 percent from deep, when you are shooting even less than that from deep. The Celtics need to hit their open shots, and if they can do that while keeping up the defense of the last two games, they should be too much for Antetokounmpo to overcome in a hostile game seven environment.
