The Boston Celtics are out of point guards with both Shane Larkin and Terry Rozier suffering an injury

The Boston Celtics have known that they are going to be without their top two point guards, Marcus Smart and Kyrie Irving, until after the first round of the playoffs. With six games remaining, and the number one seed back within reach, the Celtics are going to be without their next two point guards, Shane Larkin and Terry Rozier, against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Yeah, that leaves the Celtics with a grand total of zero point guards on their roster, with the most familiar ball handler being a center. Brad Stevens has had his work cut out for him lately, and he will be tested in a new way tonight.

More from Hardwood Houdini

The loss of Rozier could be massive for this team. He has been reliable on both ends and has taken over when needed. He has been crucial to how the offense functions, and now they have to replace that with someone who is not supposed to be handling the ball too much.

The Celtics still have some guards, but they are all wings, and are as likely to handle the ball as some of the forwards. Jaylen Brown will certainly be used, but not more than Jayson Tatum or Horford. Marcus Morris will get his turn to create with the ball in his hands, but none of these guys really bring much when it comes to distribution.

Once again the youngest players on the team are going to be thrust into a new role, and we are going to quickly learn how effective Brown and Tatum can be running an offense, with Horford handling the ball more than ever before in his career.

The Celtics might also look to new depth on their bench. There is Xavier Silas who might get some minutes, because the back court is going to be filled with wings and forwards otherwise.

Next: Al Horford the Difference Against Bucks

Against the Bucks, this could actually help in certain ways. The Celtics have no choice other than to play with their length, and they will be tested in a big way against the length of the Bucks.
