Marcus Morris will be sidelined against the Sacramento Kings with an ankle injury

Just as the Boston Celtics got good news on the injury front, with Jaylen Brown being listed as probable against the Sacramento Kings, we see that Marcus Morris is going to miss the game with an ankle injury.

Once again, we have to time frame for this injury or how much about the severity, but that clarity should come soon enough. The Celtics can be happen that they get Brown back with Morris out, but he has been the biggest reason they have been bale to win despite the injuries.

More from Hardwood Houdini

Morris has been the primary offensive option, and he is doing everything in the clutch. Morris is handling the kind of load that we have not seen anyone currently healthy carry yet this season, and it might be difficult for Brown to immediately come in and be ready to take on that role.

Morris has been making it work with everyone around him, and has made sure to never hurt the team. Brown will still bring an upgrade on defense, but nobody wants to see the most exciting player over this stretch go down, just as they are getting healthy.

With this coming against the Kings, there should not be any risk of his absence costing the game, but there is a good chance the Celtics will not play as well. Brown will need to make his adjustments, and the other players now also have to make additional adjustments.

There is a good chance that this will be a sloppy game for the Celtics, but that is not nearly enough to cost them the win. The Celtics know if they come out with as much intensity and energy, they will be able to win an ugly or well played game against the Kings.

Right now, the only real concern is how long Morris will be out. He had a stellar performance after hurting it to close out the Blazers, but just because he can play through the pain does not mean the Celtics will let him go out there.
