Are the Boston Celtics being set up for disappointment in the playoffs?

It’s a far stretch, but it’s always important to think about all possibilities within the realm of sports. The Boston Celtics still hold a significant lead in the Eastern Conference, sitting at second place and trailing only the Toronto Raptors.

The team started the season incredibly strong and united despite the devastating injury to Gordon Hayward, however, their success may be continuing, but it seems not to their full potential.

Don’t let the last sentence fool you, the Celtics are still one of the basketball teams in the league. It’s just that it’s fairly obvious that the team is nowhere near as dominant as they were in their first 30 games of the regular season.

Since Boston hasn’t been as hot as they once were earlier in the season, it makes one ponder the thought of a severely disappointing postseason. Although it is very unlikely, it’s still interesting to debate.

So, let’s say that the Playoffs started today and the Celtics were set to battle the Miami Heat in the 1st round, what would the outcome be? Well, most Celtics fans would probably say that Boston would take the series in five games or less, but not everyone.

What are the chances of Boston losing in the 1st round and watching Dwyane Wade and the Heat advance to the next round?

Remember, this all highly improbable, but anything is possible within the NBA Playoffs. Anyways, could a team of the Flash, Hassan Whiteside, Goran Dragic, Justise Winslow and Josh Richardson somehow defeat a team of Kyrie Irving, Al Horford, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum?

Well, the easy answer is no, but there’s always a chance that the veteran experience combined with the young talent of South Beach could give the Heat a chance.

It won’t happen, but the overall point is that the Celtics cannot let their guard down at any point from now until they lose four games out of seven (not including the regular season). The Heat are a great team with lots of potential in a tight Eastern Conference and they cannot be underestimated by any team.
