Jaylen Brown suffered a terrifying fall against the Timberwolves, and the Boston Celtics will be as cautious as possible with him

Jaylen Brown took one of the more brutal falls you will ever see in the Boston Celtics‘ victory against the Timberwolves. Not only did Brown fall at a weird angle with no opportunity to brace himself, his neck and head were the first things to hit the ground.

The moment Brown fell it immediately looked like he suffered a concussion, and most people were surprise the he was able to walk off the court under his own power. The Celtics are going to go through all the necessary tests, and if there is any sign of any problems, Brown will not be put back into the lineup.

More from Hardwood Houdini

Especially when it comes to concussions, the Celtics know it is no where near worth it to even think about rushing anything with Brown. At this point, it would still be a surprise if he did not suffer a concussion, and there is no telling how long he may be out if he did suffer one.

The good news is that there should be nothing too long term here. Brown will have enough time to recover from whatever damages he suffered during that fall, because the Celtics will hold him out as long as they need to.

The Celtics have a long history of being patient in these situations, and they could be even more cautious with how young Brown is. It would be a shame for Brown to miss significant time, because now is when he wants to build up his role into a legitimate second option. Missing time now would certainly hold Brown back this season, but that will not matter nearly as much to the Celtics as his long term health, especially with something like a concussion.

Brown is one of the most exciting players to watch on this team, so it feels awful seeing him go down like that. We have to wait until all the test results come back, but it would be shocking to see Brown return to the line quickly.
