The Boston Celtics add depth by calling up Kadeem Allen
The Boston Celtics know they will be without Marcus Smart against the Denver Nuggets, and now there is also a chance that Terry Rozier could miss the game too. Denver is not a place where the Celtics want to be shorthanded and get hurt by the high altitude, so they called up Kadeem Allen for get some emergency depth (Via Marc D’Amico).
Allen is fresh off a great week in Maine, including an incredible 46 point outing. It would be a lot of fun to finally see him get an opportunity to play against the Nuggets, but i would not expect too much, if he gets the see the court at all.

If Rozier is also out with Smart, then the Celtics will be in a bit of a dire situation with their guards. Shane Larkin will become one of the more important players on the team, and then you can take a guess as to who might get some opportunities between Allen and Jarell Eddie.
Both of them were brought out of the G League for the same reaosn, depth. Brad Stevens likes to use a deep bench, and Stevens does not want to put that much more strain on a team that will be adjusting to high altitude.
Even if it is just a few minutes here or there, the Celtics do not need Allen to be any kind of game changer, they really just cannot have that depth hurting the team in too many ways. The Celtics know they should beat the Nuggets, but taking their depth for granted is an easy way for this team to sneak up on them.

The Celtics felt good after the Warriors game, but are still in the midst of a rough stretch in the standings. The Raptors are just behind them and they are not in a position to have to make excuses for a game against a Nuggets team hovering around .500.
