Boston Celtics: Will James Pick Kyrie Irving in ASG?
Is There any chance LeBron James picks Kyrie Irving in the All Star Game draft?
The All Star game is just around the corner, and this is the first year attempting this new school yard picking set up. They already took out a lot of the fun by refusing to have the draft televised, but it is still going to be a lot of fun thinking about why either one of them might or might not pick a player.
The most interesting feud between any of the players that could be selected is obviously Kyrie Irving and LeBron James. There was all kinds of back and forth following the blockbuster trade between the two, and the state of the two franchises right now certainly adds even more fuel to the fire.
One thing, however, that makes it a bit more interesting is that the other side already has their starting point guard. Who knows what kind of strategy is going to be used while picking, but if positions play any factor for James, he may not have much of an option.

James Harden’s presence changes it a bit, because we have seen how brilliant he can be as a point guard. On top of that, James may not even want that point guard on the All Star team, allowing him to be able to play with the ball in his hands more.
Again, most of this will depend on what kind of mentality these guys are using when they make their picks, but there are so many different ways that they can go. Maybe James will want to show that he is a bigger man that is unfazed by the summer trade and that might make him more inclined to pick Irving.
It really is unfortunate that we do not get to see the draft, because it would have been a lot more fun watching these theories unfold. We could have learned a lot just on the order that they are picked, and who ended up getting one of their players out of default.

Hopefully this new format will still make the game itself a bit more fun, but I think that the outcry from this season will lead to the draft being televised in the future.
