The Boston Celtics need to find success on their trip to L.A

The Boston Celtics are going into their back to back games in L.A in an interesting position. They can take a look at the standings and there is nothing to get upset about. They have a two game lead in the Eastern Conference, and the Cavaliers look the most out of reach they have been all season long.

The Celtics are in a great position to get that number one seed, and yet all the players are talking about going through a rough patch, and making the mistakes that they can learn from. For as good as things look in the standings, the product they have put on the court recently has put everyone on edge.

The Celtics are on their first three game losing streak of the season, and all three loses are to teams they should have no problem beating. The Pelicans are a tough matchup because of their bigs, but the Celtics still need to be able to handle all three of those teams on a nightly basis.

The loses are bad enough, but when you look on the court itself it looks even worse. The team has been completely out of sync, and has one of the worst offenses in the league lately. When you see how bad the team played with Kyrie Irving scoring 40 points, you get an idea of how dire the situation is.

This is not the first time the Celtics have struggled this season, but with back to back games in L.A, that three game losing streak can quickly be a five game losing streak, and that might be all the Raptors need to even things up in the standings.

If the Celtics lose more ground on these back to backs, then you know this will be the bottom point of the season. The Celtics get to start with the Lakers, and it does not need to be said how terrible it would be if they lost to them. Then the Clippers are up, and even if they are a better team, the Celtics know if they do not play down to their competition, they will have no problem winning these games.

We have seen the Celtics bounce back from bad stretches this season, but making that opportunity to bounce back a set of back to backs does not help things. The last time the Celtics went on an extended streak struggling it was when they had all kinds of back to backs and could not get to practice.

This is a bit different because of how much smaller the cluttered stretch is. That being said, it will feel even worse if the Celtics do not get two wins in these next two nights. When you add on the fact that it is the Lakers, who will be sending the Celtics their pick if it falls between 2-5, and a loss tonight to the Lakers would likely be the season low.

The Celtics have an opportunity to get back on track, and not suffer too much in the standings if they are able to get these victories. The Celtics briefly lost that top seed in the past, but they can only give the Raptors so many chances before they really lose control.

The Celtics can either turn things around on this trip, and start that next winning streak, or they will be in their most difficult position of the season. When you add on how many nationally televised games the Celtics have coming up, and this is not the time fans want to see their team struggle, because then everyone will come out claiming the Celtics have no chance at contending.

Great teams will often struggle, but one of the best part of this Celtics team has been their ability to bounce back. This is the first three game losing streak of the season, so it is uncharted territories. All that means is this is the first opportunity for this team to bounce back for something like this.
