The Boston Celtics can finally settle a bit and figure out what this team is going to be

The Boston Celtics had the craziest start you could possibly imagine for an NBA team this year, and there really has not been much of an opportunity to process anything. Finally, the Celtics are on a two day break and we get a chance to process what is happening.

Coming out of the craziest offseason we have ever seen, the Celtics could not get through the first minutes before everything collapsed, and the season was transformed. Losing Gordon Hayward ensured that anything we thought about this team before that first game had to be thrown away after he went down.

A lot of people thought the season goals were over, and they were going to focus on developing their young talent in order to prepare for when they are at full strength. Well, the youth are looking a lot better than anyone expected, and the team is doing better than many thought they would have done even with Hayward.

The Celtics lost those first two games, then responded with the run that has created one of the most chaotic starts you will ever see. The starting lineup was unset, Marcus Morris and Marcus Smart missed some time, then they had the trio of Al Horford, Kyrie Irving and Jayson Tatum all get hurt, but they kept winning.

More from Hardwood Houdini

The Celtics were the hottest team in the league and the Cavaliers were free falling, and it felt like every single game was a playoff experience. TD Garden was in peak form in the first weeks of the season, and the players were showing the kind of passion that people will feed off.

Then everyone got healthy just in time, and the Celtics had one of the most significant regular season wins you could possibly get this early on against the Warriors, making sure everyone took them seriously.

The Celtics finally had their streak end, but the chaos still did not stop there. The Celtics are fresh off playing three games in four nights, and for the first time of the season are getting some extra rest, without having to worry about injuries.

The Celtics are in first place and have recovered from all the non season ending injuries, and everyone can finally process what this team has become. So much has changed, and they have gone through so many different things, that it has been difficult to gauge exactly what this Celtics team is.

Next: Celtics Need Bench for Interior Defense

We have seen their potential on defense, and their offense is starting to settle. The lineup is still all over the place, but Brad Stevens is always creative with his lineups. We are finally at a point where we can get an understanding of what this team is going to be the rest of the season.
