The Boston Celtics had heir most promising season in about a decade crash and burn just five minutes into the first game of the season. After dropping the first two, people were ready to give up on a Celtics team that would never be the same, with a long recovery period expected.
Since then, the Celtics have continued to battle through Marcus Smart and Marcus Morris‘ injuries, collecting five straight wins. Keep in mind that includes wins against quality opponents like the Heat, the Bucks and the Spurs.
The Celtics are beating good teams without playing their best basketball, and they are currently the hottest team in the league, with the only five game winning streak of the year.
The Celtics are at a fascinating point, because they can look at every game and realize that they are still far from their best. That being said, the defense is really solidified right now, and that victory against a top Spurs defense is the best sign that their offense is well on its way to being dominant on a regular base.

Both the youngsters Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum are a big reason the Celtics are so hot right now. Both of them are exceeding expectations right now, and impacting the game in dynamic ways.
For all the bad that has happened to start this season, the Celtics are getting the contributions and players are stepping up in order to get them back to favourites in the East.
The Celtics were not expected to recover this quickly, but they need to make sure they keep building on it. One of the special parts of this season is that the Celtics really should be improving throughout.
The Celtics need to make sure they maintain the things that have been working, as they address the issues that have held them back.
The Celtics have won five in a row, but the Spurs victory was the first real convincing win against a quality opponent. The Celtics looked far from title contenders prior to that.
The Celtics have to love their ability to win games when they do not perform their best, but until they actually perform their best people will question how far they will actually be able to go.
The Celtics have done enough to get their season back on track right now, but there is still so much time and so much work to do. The sample size still cannot be trusted, so there will always be uncertainty with that.
