Welcome to the 2017-18 NBA Season
Welcome to the 2017-18 NBA regular season Celtics fans!
The time we’ve all been waiting for is finally here!
After the craziest offseason of all time, the new-look Boston Celtics (and many other new-look teams) are geared up for, what should be, an even crazier NBA season.
It’s crazy to think that Danny Ainge traded the #1 pick, drafted at #3, signed Gordon Hayward, and neither were the top headlines of the offseason. That alone just goes to show you that this offseason was the craziest we’ve ever seen.
You probably already know everything that has happened for the Celtics over the summer. But in case you were living under a rock, CBS took the liberty of listing what happened to all of the Boston players over the offseason.

If you’ve been paying attention throughout the whole summer, you’re probably ecstatic about this new-look roster that Ainge has assembled. With Hayward and Kyrie Irving in green and white, it’s been a long, hard wait to actually see the new duo finally take the court for the first time alongside Al Horford, Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, and new Celtics Jayson Tatum, Aron Baynes, Marcus Morris, and many more new additions.
There are tons of storylines heading into this NBA season, and one of the biggest being tonight in the first game of the season with Irving playing for the first time on a different team against his former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers. But he doesn’t seem to be stressing over facing his old team, “No. Why would it be? It’s just hoops,” Irving said prior to shootaround for Wednesday’s preseason game against the Charlotte Hornets.
J.R Smith, on the other hand, seems like he isn’t too worried about Boston this season, telling reporters, “I don’t think they really pose a big threat to us”
Will this be the season that the Celtics prove everyone wrong and finally surpass the Cavaliers? Or are they still a few pieces short of making that leap for the Eastern Conference crown?
Regardless, let’s not get too ahead of ourselves. Just keep in mind that this is only the first of a long 82 game season. Remember to keep that in mind tonight. No matter how good (or bad) things are going in tonight’s season opener, remember to not take part in making some absurd hot takes that seem to always come around in the first week of the season.

Most importantly, don’t forget to sit back and enjoy all of it. All the highs, all the lows, all of it. After that stressful offseason, we all deserve to enjoy some NBA basketball.
