Marcus Morris will be rejoining the Boston Celtics after being found not guilty on assault charges

The Boston Celtics can finally get their fully transformed roster together, as the final piece, Marcus Morris, is set to rejoin the team after missing training camp and the first preseason game while being on trial for assault charges.

Morris and his twin brother Markieff Morris were found not guilty on both of their charges (Via CelticsBlog), and will not be facing any discipline that will keep them out of the lineup.

The timing of this trial could have been detrimental to Morris, as he needed to get out there and establish some comfort and chemistry as he attempts to secure that final starting position.

We still are unsure as to whether or not Morris will be able to play in the next preseason game, but he will certainly be able to see some action before the regular season starts.

More from Hardwood Houdini

The time missed still did hurt Morris, especially after the performance of Aron Baynes and Daniel Theis in the first preseason game.

Prior to that game, Morris was probably the favorite to start next to Al Horford, and now the feel is that Baynes is the favorite, as he played his role exactly as they needed him to in that opening appearance.

The Celtics have an incredibly uncertain front court right now, and Morris was supposed to be the second most established and trusted player after Horford.

Now, he falls behind in that respect, and he has to do even more to prove to Brad Stevens that he deserves that final roster spot.

The good news is that missing one game is not going to kill everything. The bigger issue is whether or not Morris will immediately be in playing shape, physically and mentally.

Next: Still Too Early to Read into Rotation

It is impossible to tell what kind of toll a trial like that may have had on Morris, and if it has a negative impact on him in any way, he could quickly disappear behind some of these young bigs that will be looking to break out.
