The Boston Celtics should know the fate of Andrew Bogut soon

The Boston Celtics have gone through one of the most remarkable roster transitions this offseason, and it is still not done. Fortunately, it appears as though Andrew Bogut may be about a week away from deciding, and the Celtics are one of four teams he may be interested in (Via Boston.com).

This move makes a lot of sense for both sides. The Celtics give Bogut a chance to play on a contending team again, and actually get enough minutes to have an impact.

The Celtics will give him those minutes because they need a lot of things he can offer. The reboudning would stand out the most,  and Bogut anchored some great defenses in Golden State.

He could be their best interior presence, and offer something that very few players on the Celtics can in the front court.

Bogut also gives the Celtics a bit more experience. The Celtics are one of the youngest teams in the league, and even if Bogut is coming off the bench he could have a nice impact on all the youngsters.

The question will always be whether or not Bogut can actually stay healthy, and if he is healthy, will he be able to play at a competitive level once again.

The Celtics will not be spending a lot of money on this last roster spot no mater what, so it always comes as low risk. The Celtics have plenty of young players who they are hoping will break out, so filling that roster spot with an aging guy that might be able to get back to form would be a nice change of pace, and get more balance.

Bogut has multiple suitors, so he will be the one with the most control in this situation. Maybe the Celtics will not be able to afford the contract others will be presenting. Maybe the Celtics or Bogut will not believe in his ability to fit into a front court that is surrounded by versatility.

The good news is that we will not ahve to wait long to find out the fate of Bogut, but if he goes elsewhere the search for that final spot will still be going on.
