Paul Pierce and Ray Allen have finally reconnected after a long saga of animosity

The Ray Allen saga with the Boston Celtics has been long an exhausting. The moment he decided to join the Miami Heat, he become one of the most hated figures in all of Boston. The fans despised him, and the players ignored him. Allen was completely alienated from the franchise, with a lot of talk about how he was never in contact with anybody.

Then there was the whole saga on Kevin Garnett‘s area 21 where it looked like the his former teammates were still upset with how he handled things, but could be receptive if he reached out.

Allen then had comments about the Isaiah Thomas trade, but calling out the fans for realizing the difference between the two situations certainly did not help his case with the fans.

We were getting the the point where many thought things would never be resolved between Allen, his former teammates and the fans.

More from Hardwood Houdini

While getting the fans back on his side may be an impossible task, Paul Pierce has taken the first step in attempting to mend things. Pierce went to social media, saying that it is time to bury the hatchet, and there is a good chance that the other teammates will follow suit.

They may never be best friends ever again, and there may always be animosities, but these guys may finally be back in contact with one another, ending one of the most petty processes of the summer.

In the end, this really is just getting old at this point. Fans have made it clear that they do not want to forgive him, and there are good reason for it. Allen’s comments on social media have also made it clear that he will always believe he was treated unfairly.

Next: Brown or Tatum More Important?

Maybe now is the time for all parties to just accept this is how it is going to be. Hopefully he will be able to have some sort of relationship with the players he won a championship with, but enough time has been spent on this Allen saga.
