Isaiah Thomas continues to show his immense courage through tragedy.
Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens informed the media on Monday that Isaiah Thomas is expected to play in game 2 against the Chicago Bulls. Stevens said that Thomas will play on Tuesday, and then go home to Tacoma to be with his family. He will then rejoin the team before game 3 on Friday.
This is good news for the Celtics. Not only does it mean they will have their best player on the floor during the playoffs, but it means that game 1 wasn’t too much for Thomas to handle. It doesn’t seem that the all star point guard will miss any time to deal with the loss of his little sister Chyna.

This is another display of incredibly impressive courage from Thomas. The way he played in the first game of the playoffs was nothing short of magnificent. It’s a shame that his teammates couldn’t rebound for him, but I expect the Celtics to rally behind their main man for the remainder of the season.
Game 2 will be very important if the Celtics hope to win a playoff series for the first time in five years. Going down 2-0 heading into Chicago would make things very difficult for Boston. Expect Thomas to be his regular self, but also expect his team to be more ready this time around.
Jimmy Butler had some success guarding Thomas in the second half, so we’ll see if Chicago goes with that match up all game. If so, Thomas will have a great chance at tiring out the Bulls star player. Nobody can guard Thomas for an entire game, so we’ll see how the Bulls use Butler.
Game 1 was a great night for Thomas besides the fact that his team lost. There aren’t enough words to describe how strong “The Little Guy” has been these past few days. I would be shocked if the team doesn’t respond in a positive way, even though it was apparent that Boston was effected emotionally by Chyna Thomas’ death.

The TD Garden will be rocking for #4 once again. The fans of the team, the NBA, and even the Bulls are behind Thomas to get through such a tough time. Now, onto Tuesday.
