Player Grades

Avery Bradley A-

23 PTS 4 REBS 3 ASTS

Bradley stepped up in the absence of his captain and provided the offensive spark for the starting unit. He went 3/5 from the three point line in a good shooting night. He also defended Evan Fournier well after he started the game strong.

Marcus Smart C+

13 PTS 3 REBS 3 ASTS

Smart started in place of the injured Thomas and had a very good night. 13 points on 5/7 shooting with 1 three was a vast improvement on his shooting from the last few games.

Jae Crowder C+

17 PTS 10 REBS 2 ASTS

Vastly improved performance from Cowder after a subpar game against the Rockets. 17 points on 6/10 shooting including a jumper in the third to push the Boston lead out to 15. 10 boards is another impressive contribution in a good night for number 99.

Al Horford C+

10 PTS 6 REBS 8 ASTS

Horford did a bit of everything in this one. Only shot 3/9 from the field including 0/3 from deep but managed to help out in plenty of other ways showing his passing ability with 8 assists. Held Serge Ibaka to just 8 points in a lockdown defensive role as well.

Amir Johnson C

11 PTS 5 REBS 1 ASTS

Johnson got his starting position back to match up with Bismack Biyambo and Ibaka and used his start to have his highest scoring outing since November 12th against the Pacers. 5/7 from the field in an terrifically efficient night.

Jonas Jerebko D

0 PTS 4 REBS 4 ASTS

Jerebko headed back to the bench as a result of matchups and struggled from the outset. He travelled on one of his first touches and didn’t make a shot all night going 0/4. He chipped in with some assists and rebounds but an overall poor outing for the sweet shooting big man.

Kelly Olynyk D+

9 PTS 4 REBS 2 ASTS

Olynyk can’t seem to find that rhythm he had against the Pistons last week, having not scored more than 10 over the past week. He went 0/3 from deep, only going 2/7 over his last four games. He also needs to keep working on his rebounding.

Jaylen Brown B

13 PTS 2 REBS 1 ASTS

The rookie had one of his best NBA games in his young career against the Magic. 13 points on 5/8 shooting including a thunderous dunk over Nikola Vucevic. A great performance after looking like he was slowing down a little bit over the last week.

Terry Rozier B+

16 PTS 5 REBS 2 ASTS

A career night for Rozier going for 16 points in a great spark of the bench in the absence of Thomas. Sparked the second unit and helped the Celtics take the lead and go on from there.

Tyler Zeller, Gerald Green, Jordan Mickey and Demetrius Jackson all got into the game on Wednesday but failed to have any significant impact.

Next: Bench is Improving

The Celtics now head home to face the Raptors on Friday in what is a huge game and a chance for the Celtics to finally have that statement win.
