Celtics Late Night Show: Episode 006 (Archived)

In the preview of last night’s show I mentioned that we had one heck of a show planned. Well that really turned out to be an understatement, we do try to keep this site as professional as you can get but let me tell you last night’s show was one HELL of a show. Let’s put it this way, we usually plan to go 90 minutes and last night things were so good we had to cut callers short to keep it under two hours.

As you saw in the preview the headliner of the show was our pre-recorded interview with Gary Dzen, staff writer for the Boston Globe. This interview had so much insider info packed into it that even I was over whelmed. We thank Gary very much for coming on the show and we hope to have him on again soon.

Besides Gary we also did a little talking of our own. We once again questioned the Celtics lack of focus both on long stretches of games, and against weaker opponents. About half way through the show Brandon went into a handicap match against Nick, Travis, and caller Matt from Gino’s Jungle on the subject of whether Glen Davis or Brian Scalabrine should get the starting nod. We were also glad to bring in a first time caller, Brandon from NBA Primetime to talk about the never ending topic of Gilbert Arenas. I think most of us agreed that Arenas is pretty much a flat out punk.

We were also joined by the president of the Bill Walker fan club, not really, Mike from Australia. Mike went outside at work to call into the show, so we want to really thank him for his support.  And of course, what would a Celtics show be without taking calls from KWAPT and Scotsman? Both of these guys called in and didn’t disappoint.

Matt from Gino’s Jungle also joined Brandon to discuss their weekly power rankings in the segament “Ten in Ten”, suprisingly they agreed on the majority of picks this week. We were also joined by Alex from NBA Tipoff for our weekly segment of “Around the Hardwood”. Alex came on the show and gave a quick run down of whats going on in the league outside of our beloved Boston Celtics.

And last but not least, we aired our first ever segment of the Torture Chamber. If you are in for a few laughs then I highly recommend you at least take the time to listen to this one segment. In this segment we let Mike Munger (Scotsman) loose on anything in the league that he wants to let some steam out about. This weeks topics included Zaza Pachulia, Kobe Bryant, and “The Machine” just to name a few.

We want to extend our thanks to everyone who made this show possible last night. It is really amazing to see all these people already coming behind us and helping us with this podcast. Thanks to all who called in, all who listened, all who pre-recorded segments, and huge thanks to Gary Dzen for taking the time to join us. We will be back live next Sunday at 11pm to try and top this past weeks show (it’s going to be tough).
