It may feel like the dog days of summer, but the NBA season is rapidly approaching, with the 2026-27 schedule being slowly released over the course of this week. Before you know it, Celtics basketball is going to be back on your TV, radio, or streaming device. The team is going to look a bit different this season, but like most years, they expect to contend for a championship.
While the team on the floor may look different, the way you follow the team should look pretty similar to last year, with the same broadcast crews returning to bring Celtics games into your living rooms.
Where to watch the Celtics on TV
Nothing has changed from recent years, as most Celtics games will be shown on NBC Sports Boston, which can be found as part of your local TV provider across New England. NBCSB also has live pregame, halftime, and postgame coverage of every game with familiar faces like Drew Carter, Brian Scalabrine, Eddie House, and others.
Cable and satellite customers can find Celtics games on Comcast Xfinity, DirecTV, Verizon Fios, Spectrum, Cox Communications, and other various local cable providers as long as you’re in the region.

If NBC Sports Boston isn’t available in your local market, you can purchase an NBA League Pass account to watch every NBA game outside of your market, or an NBA Team Pass subscription for the Celtics only. These games can be watched on TV or streamed through the NBA app.
Where to listen to the Celtics on the Radio
Celtics games will be available locally on 98.5 the Sports Hub, the flagship station of the Boston Celtics, which is also available on the Audacy App. If you’re outside of New England, games are also available through Sirius XM Radio and NBA League Pass and the NBA App, which also offers audio only.
Key Dates for 2026-27 Season
The full schedule releases on Thursday, but we already know about a couple of big Celtics games during the season’s opening week and on Christmas Day.
- October 20th: Celtics @ Pistons 3 PM EST, NBC/Peacock
- October 23rd: Knicks @ Celtics 7 PM EST, Amazon Prime
- December 25th: Heat @ Celtics 2:30 PM EST, ABC/ESPN
2026 Emirates NBA Cup
The NBA Cup will start on October 30th this season, and Cup games will be played exclusively on October 30th, November 6th, 13th, 20th, 24th, 25th, and 27th. The cup playoffs will be December 4th and 5th, and the championship game will take place on December 11th.
The Celtics will be in East Group C for the NBA Cup, which also features the Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, Chicago Bulls, and Washington Wizards. This page will be updated as the schedule is released and more games are announced.
