No. 3: Carsen Edwards
The streaky shooter from Purdue was drafted with the No. 33 overall pick in 2019 and was apart of some of the most successful Celtics summer league teams, going 4-1 with the squad in 2019 and in 2021.
He dropped 19.4 points per game in 2019, snagging the No. 1 seed in the tournament before the team choked in the first round to the Memphis Grizzlies. He scored 25 points, including six threes, in the loss.
The next summer league in 2021, the team grinded their way to the finals just to dramatically lose a 100-67 contest to the Sacramento Kings. That Kings team was led by then-rookie Jahmi’us Ramsey, who scored 16 points in the match and ironically also scored 16 points for the Celtics in their first 2024 summer league game this year.
The five-foot-11 guard struggled mightily in the regular season, shooting just 29.7 percent from deep over two seasons in Boston and one in Detroit.
He’s found more success in Europe, playing for the Bayern Munchen team in Germany, which competes in the top German division and also in the Euroleage. He averaged 13.6 points per game on 54 percent shooting in the German BBL league for the 2023-24 season.
