Pro wrestling legend Ric Flair was not a fan of Kendrick Perkins' take that LeBron James should retire to save his legacy -- responding to the former Boston Celtics big man on X to rebuke Big Perk's suggestion while showing love to the ESPN analyst.

"Big Perk, Love You & Respect You," Flair tweeted. "You’re One Of The Best Analysts In The World, But I Totally Disagree. (LeBron) Should Play Until He Wants To Go Out On His Own Terms. I Mean How Much Greater Can You Get. Who’s Going To Tarnish His Legacy? Comments Like That Tarnish His Legacy And I’m Sure That Pisses Him Off. Next Time We See LBJ On The Court, It Will Be A Triple Double. I’ll Go WOOOOO And So Will You (Kendrick Perkins!"

Perkins believes that James's standing in the G.O.A.T. debate is at risk if he continues playing.

"I wish LeBron James would retire," Perkins prefaced on the May 6 edition of ESPN's First Take before saying, "Not because I don't want to see more of LeBron James. ... The more LeBron James continues to play the game of basketball, the more it's going to hurt his legacy and the more it's going to continue to hurt his GOAT argument."

Ric Flair right about LeBron James's career -- and former Boston Celtics big man Kendrick Perkins is spewing for clicks

Perkins cannot possibly believe that about the man who dragged him and the rest of the Cleveland Cavaliers to two NBA Finals appearances in 2015 and 2018. Saying LeBron needs to retire for the sake of his G.O.A.T. debate standing is the definition of fishing for clicks.

Flair, who's been known to tear apart an adversary here and there, took the high road in his retort to Perkins, but the stylin', profilin', limousine riding, jet flying, kiss-stealing, wheelin' n' dealin' son of a gun had every right to go in on Big Perk for those comments.
