Joe Mazzulla has built an interesting friendship with Man City's head coach, Pep Guardiola. The two have been able to coincidentally gain wins on the same dates; that's just how much their schedules lined up throughout the season.

Mazzula is now on the verge of -- sitting three victories away -- claiming his first NBA championship as a head coach and the organization's 18th in its storied history. But don't forget that this is just his second season in this position.

“I think as you get into this, you start to realize, once you’re in a position, nobody can really relate to you other than people in those positions,” Mazzulla said Saturday in Boston, where the Celtics will play host to Game 2 of the NBA Finals against Dallas on Sunday night (h/t Associated Press). “So, you develop a bond with other coaches, and you know what they are going through, and you know what the challenges are and the opportunities and the situation you’re in. I think it’s really important that we all stick together.”

There's no way around it that these two coaches revolve around one thing: winning.

Fortunately, the two have been able to grow closer and build a bond despite being in two completely different areas.

That's the beauty of sports.

How is Pep Guardiola's Manchester City team performing this season?

Man City is currently atop the standings within the Premier League holding a record of 28-7-3.

If you're unfamiliar with how soccer works, the number in the middle represents draws, as the historic sport can only go for so long, unlike basketball.

In addition, Guardiola's team is coasting on a five-game winning streak, as their next match will take place on Tuesday, July 23.

Nonetheless, Coach Mazzulla and Manager Guardiola have been able to strengthen each other in a manner that tends to be overlooked at times.

No matter how competitive sports are, these two have brought out the beauty from within.
