Jaylen Brown addresses perceived issue with Boston Celtics teammate
Jaylen Brown being snubbed from Team USA caused No. 7 to lash out at Nike, but many took his feelings that he was snubbed for the final spot after Kawhi Leonard's injury as a shot at Derrick White -- who was named the team's replacement.
It was not. And Brown let the world know that he and White are on good terms despite the forced narrative from many media members that they're not.
"I called Derrick right away," Brown said (h/t ESPN). "Just to make sure there's no confusion, my love for you and all of that. He knew that, and he did. You don't always gotta make everything public. Me and D-White are good."
Brown is no stranger to having to answer for his relationship with teammates. Until the Cs won Banner 18 in June, the most prevalent question from national talking heads was whether or not he and Jayson Tatum can win together.
Now that it's proven the Jays are ideal star running mates, there has to be an issue somewhere. Unfortunately for Celtics detractors, it wasn't found between Brown and White.
Jaylen Brown selling Boston mansion should not make Celtics fans worry
Brown recently put up his Fort Point penthouse for sale. Do you know what that means Celtics fans?
Absolutely nothing at all.
Brown has been outspoken in the past about the city of Boston, but that all seems like water under the bridge since Banner 18 was won. He is on one of the biggest contracts ever handed out in NBA history.
He has no reason to ask the front office for an out. If anything, Brown may be looking to upgrade his living situation since he's so wealthy and appears ticketed to nab any incentive in his deal in the coming years.
