Jalen Brunson sends a strong message about the Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics have foes in the Eastern Conference such as the Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers and the New York Knicks who stood right behind them in the standings. The Knicks have made some progress of their own during the offseason — adding Mikal Bridges and re-signing OG Anunoby.
Although the Knicks appear to be the biggest threat to the Cs next season but that does not stop their star guard Jalen Brunson from sending his warm regards.
“I think Boston is going to be remembered by non-basketball people, like non-players, about this run, like, ‘Oh, they didn’t play so and so because they were hurt,'” Brunson prefaced before saying, “But I think the people in the basketball world understand that, no, they walked through every challenge they had to do, and things fell in their favor, it’s as simple as that.”
Brunson mentions the fact that the opposing teams were depleted due to injuries but unfortunately, that can not be controlled — if it was possible, load management would not exist (or would it?).
He even went a step further and designated the two different thought processes stating the term "non-basketball people." That's true, for those who are not tuned into the sport as much would think that the Cs only won it all due to the other team not having a certain player.
Jalen Brunson's respect for the Boston Celtics is commendable
Brunson did not have to say that statement but that just shows the kind of person he is — it's commendable. Despite the team he commented about his biggest roadblock to an NBA title means a ton.
Sportsmanship is still a thing and we must embrace it.
The future matchup between the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks will require popcorn and then some because the two will be gunning for the top spot in the East.
It will take more than 110% to takedown the guys in green because they're not satisfied one bit.
