Anthony Davis was once someone the Boston Celtics wanted to acquire in a trade -- and likewise, someone who had the Cs on his own wish list. Rumors have been swirling around that the Celtics' longtime rival Los Angeles Lakers may be open to trading the former NBA Champion.

While Davis is a great player and has had a wonderful career Boston should not think longer than the amount of time it takes to say "no" out loud about making that move.

Boston has an amazing starting five of Jrue Holiday, Derrick White, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, and Kristaps Porzingis, and more importantly, they all play for each other. It would not do the team any good if they made the move for Davis because he has quit on teams before (NOLA anyone?); something that should make him a non-starter.

Boston Celtics will never have need for Anthony Davis as long as Kristaps Porzingis is around

Porzingis has been the perfect addition to the team and he is more than happy accepting his role to win. While Davis was once the apple of Boston’s eye, the team now has someone who fits even better. Porzingis plays excellent defense and spreads the floor very well and that is exactly what the team needs to compete for a Championship. Porzingis's fit into the locker room has gone better than anyone could have dreamed, and he has made himself a key player for the team's future.

Many front offices should be interested in Davis's services, but again, the Celtics should not even consider it. Boston is playing at a very high level and has the right guys to bring them Banner 18. Focus on the fringes, Brad Stevens and Co., because rocking the boat too hard may just tip the boat over.
