The Boston Celtics have been the most dominant team in the NBA this season. The franchise is tied with the Los Angeles Lakers for the most championships (17) in NBA history. Is this the year Boston adds another banner to the Garden?

To no surprise, oddsmakers are projecting Boston to have a great shot at title No. 18. The Celtics ran away with the regular-season Eastern Conference title with the NBA’s best regular-season record at 64-18.

Celtics NBA Championship odds (Boston a consensus favorite to win it all)

According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Boston is the odds-on favorite to hoist the Larry O’Brien Trophy once again at +165 ($100 bet wins $165). Those odds carry an implied probability of 37.74% that the Celtics will win their first title since Doc Rivers’ 2008 club went all the way.

Who is projected to meet Boston in the NBA Finals? That would be the defending-champion Denver Nuggets, who are the second-favorite at +300 to repeat as champions (25% implied probability).

Boston an overwhelming favorite to reach NBA Finals

You’ll see a large dropoff on the odds board when looking at Eastern Conference futures. Boston is a -190 favorite to win the conference, which is an implied probability of 65.52% that the Celtics will reach the NBA Finals for the second time in three seasons.

There’s a big drop in odds to the second favorite to win the east in the Milwaukee Bucks, which are 7-to-1 (+700) to reach the NBA Finals for the second time in four seasons. The Celtics went 41-11 (24-24-4 ATS) against Eastern Conference opponents this season.
