Colin Cowherd unfairly compared the Boston Celtics to the Buffalo Bills; making the connection that both are highly heralded before a given season starts, but fade when the lights are brightest by the postseason.

“Boston hammers a lot of teams by a lot all the time," Cowherd said (h/t Bills Central). "I’ve been watching Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and either Marcus Smart or Jrue Holiday blow out teams for three seasons. They lead the NBA in point-differential this year and they led the NBA in point-differential last year. They were second in point-differential in 2021. I got one trip to the Finals where they had a lead and blew it, and no trophies. They are becoming the Buffalo Bills, I’m sorry.

“I am in no way doubting Boston, but we’ve seen this before,” Cowherd added. “We saw those great Sacramento Kings teams never get a title. We saw those great Bills teams with Jim Kelly, Hall of Famer, never got a title.

“This Buffalo Bills team doesn’t feel like they’re going to get to a Super Bowl, this Chiefs defense is all kids and only getting better, and they’ve got Mahomes in his prime. I feel like Boston has got that feeling. You’re not as good as Denver because you don’t have anyone as good as Jokic.”

Boston Celtics have gotten over more humps than Buffalo Bills

First of all, comparing a franchise with the most NBA Championships ever to a team with no Super Bowl wins is absurd on the surface. With that out of the way, comparing the four Eastern Conference Finals appearances and one conference championship Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Marcus Smart have accomplished to Josh Allen and Co.'s one AFC Championship appearance is equally as unfair.

The Cs are having a historically dominant season and added two All-Star caliber talents in Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday prior to it. For all intents and purposes, this Celtics roster doesn't have a resume to speak of yet.

Even the regular season results we do have points in the opposite direction of the up-and-down Bills of 2023.

Bad comparison, Cowherd.
