Predicting all 82 Celtics games to determine their 2024-25 season record
By Jack Simone
8. November 4 @ Atlanta Hawks
After trading Dejounte Murray this offseason, the Atlanta Hawks are in a weird place. They played the Celtics well last season, but Murray handled the load in those games. But Trae Young is still around. It’s a weird one, but this could be a Hawks win.
Prediction: Loss | Record: 6-2
9. November 6 vs. Golden State Warriors
The first game home after a long road trip will coincide with a bounce-back spot for the Celtics here. Add in Tatum’s first chance to get back at Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr for benching him on Team USA, and you have a recipe for a Boston win.
Prediction: Win | Record: 7-2
10. November 8 vs. Brooklyn Nets
Not only have the Celtics played the Brooklyn Nets well in recent years, but they are also a fraction of what they once were. Anytime they take on the Celtics, it should equal a Boston win.
Prediction: Win | Record: 8-2
11. November 10 @ Milwaukee Bucks
Just as the Celtics took care of business at home against the Bucks earlier in the year, expect Milwaukee to do the same. These two teams play each other well, and Giannis Antetokounmpo won’t want to lose to Boston twice.
Prediction: Loss | Record: 8-3
12. November 12 vs. Atlanta Hawks (NBA Cup)
The Celtics took the NBA Cup (then known as the In-Season Tournament) pretty seriously last year. They’ll do the same this season, and they’ll definitely want to beat the Hawks after losing to them earlier in the year.
Prediction: Win | Record: 9-3
