Predicting all 82 Celtics games to determine their 2024-25 season record

The Boston Celtics schedule for the upcoming 2024-25 season has been fully revealed, including NBA Cup games, rivalry games, and everything in between. But how will the Celtics fare throughout the year?
Let’s take a peek through the entire season and predict what Boston’s record will be next season.
1. October 22 vs. New York Knicks (Opening Night)
This is the night where the Celtics will get their rings and raise Banner 18 into the rafters. Losing this game would be a tough look, and the Celtics won’t let it happen.
Prediction: Win | Record: 1-0
2. October 24 @ Washington Wizards
While the 2024 NBA Draft went well for the Washington Wizards, they are still going to be one of the worst teams in the league this year. Boston should take care of business.
Prediction: Win | Record: 2-0
3. October 26 @ Detroit Pistons
Adding Tobias Harris and some other veterans in free agency should have the Detroit Pistons in a better spot than last season. The Pistons have played Boston well in recent years, so this one could be close, but the Celtics should take home a victory.
Prediction: Win | Record: 3-0
4. October 28 vs. Milwaukee Bucks
This has the potential to be the Celtics’ first loss of the season, but then again, it’s also their first real test after two games against subpar opponents. Expect a solid game but a Boston win.
Prediction: Win | Record: 4-0
5. October 30 @ Indiana Pacers
Here it is. This is the first loss of the season. Boston is fresh off a win over the Bucks, and the Indiana Pacers are gearing up for a revenge game after the Eastern Conference finals. The Celtics are going to get blitzed.
Prediction: Loss | Record: 4-1
6. November 1 @ Charlotte Hornets
Last year, the Charlotte Hornets actually took a game off the Celtics early in the season. Boston will be prepared this time around. They’ll bounce back with a win in this one.
Prediction: Win | Record: 5-1
7. November 2 @ Charlotte Hornets
A back-to-back against the Hornets will be fun, especially with all of the Celtics connections in Charlotte (Charles Lee, Jermaine Bucknor, Grant Williams, and more). That said, the Celtics should take both of these. Jayson Tatum loves playing in Charlotte…
