10 Celtics schedule details that jump off the page right away
By Jack Simone
The full 2024-25 Boston Celtics schedule has been released to the public, so fans can start looking at what games they want to watch the most, what games mean the most to their favorite players, and which stretches of the season will be the toughest.
With that in mind, here are 10 details of the Celtics schedule that immediately jump off the page.
1. The first two months are a breeze
The Celtics begin their season with a game against the New York Knicks on Opening Night, but after that, the months of October and November are filled with subpar competition. It’s like Boston was rewarded for their championship run.
In the first month and change of the season, the Celtics play 19 games. Of those 19 games, only seven are against teams that made the playoffs last year.
Among the games are two games against the Washington Wizards, two games against the Charlotte Hornets, two games against the Brooklyn Nets, and two games against the Atlanta Hawks.
Their NBA Cup group helps with the scheduling here, but regardless, Boston is primed for a hot start.
2. March is very split
Once the season gets to March, the slog of the season has fully kicked in, and that will be a weird time for the Celtics. They almost completely split their time at home and on the road.
The first six games of March are at TD Garden. Then, after two games on the road and one more at home, they wrap up the month with a six-game road trip. Boston will have to get very used to the plane at that point.
