The 2024 NBA All-Star Game was perhaps one of the least entertaining on record. No one was a fan of the effortless exhibition, but several Boston Celtics reporters had the most scathing reactions on social media.

The Boston Globe's Bob Ryan pleaded for Adam Silver to do something about the subpar showcase, calling the All-Star Game an "embarrassment" for Silver's sport.

"Once again, these NBA stars are showing no respect for the game," Ryan posted on X. "It’s another Dunkarama and 3-point farce. Not a single hand in anyone’s face. I’ll see how TCM is doing. See you next year. What a waste of time. Adam, you must do something. It’s embarrassing for your sport."

After spending All-Star Weekend's Saturday night complaining about Anthony Edwards' disgraceful Skills Competition showing, the man they call "the kid," The Athletic's Jay King, simply sounded tired and kept things short and sweet.

"Honestly what is the point of this nonsense," King said.

All-Star Weekend a disappointment overall but not terrible for Boston Celtics stars

There were not a lot of highlights from All-Star Weekend, but the Celtics were part of a few of them.

Jaylen Brown's Slam Dunk Contest tribute to Terrence Clarke further immortalized the former Kentucky Wildcat and Boston native. Jayson Tatum was an All-Star starter for the second straight year.

The Eastern Conference in general had several high-scoring duos, while the Western Conference featured a strange dynamic where no two teammates looked like they had ever been on the same NBA roster before.

There's not much you can truly glean from the game. Most certainly not entertainment value, that's for sure. All you can really go forward with is the knowledge that the All-Star Weekend format of old has worn out its welcome, and in some way, shape, or form, this event needs to change.
