The 2023-24 Boston Celtics are a juggernaut. There’s simply no other way of putting it. What we are witnessing is historic and an amazing treat.

After beating the Golden State Warriors by 52 points on March 3, the Celtics have stamped themselves as the dominant team to beat and the title favorite. Ultimately, it is time to start thinking about whether or not the Cs have a chance to be one of the best NBA teams of the 21st century.

Not only have the Celtics been the best team in the NBA this season, posting a record of 48-12 as of this writing, but they are also doing it dominantly. Boston currently has three wins by 50 or more points, which has only happened three other times in franchise history. The Cs are mauling everyone at a rate that truly hasn’t been seen since the legendary Warriors teams from 2015-2019.

The Boston Celtics have come full circle

It's a cool full-circle moment that the Celtics completed a dominant stretch by beating the Warriors on Sunday. In a way, the Celtics proved to the NBA and the entire audience watching that they are the next great NBA team. I have felt for a long time and still do that the Cs will be the next team to go back-to-back and potentially three-peat as NBA champions.

What makes this season special is that the Celtics can join an exclusive group of the best single-season teams of the 21st century. I think the two best NBA teams of the 21st century are the 2017 Golden State Warriors and the 2001 Los Angeles Lakers. After those two, there are several worthy teams, but the Cs have a chance to firmly stamp themselves as the third-best team of the century with a title.

What a year to be a Celtics fan and witness potential history.
