3. Baylor Scheierman

Baylor Scheierman, the final name on this list, is more of a theoretical idea. Obviously, rookies don’t average 20 points per game often, and when they do, they’re a guy like Victor Wembanyama.

Scheierman isn’t that.

But Scheierman is an elite scorer. The former Creighton Blue Jay averaged 18.5 points per game in his final collegiate season. In a 30-minute game, averaging that many points is extremely impressive.

While Scheierman may not be able to translate that scoring to the NBA level right away, the talent is clearly there, and he will be able to put the ball in the hoop a lot during his time in the league.

Not only is Scheierman a great three-point shooter, but he’s also very capable of getting to the rim and finishing or drawing free throws. That will be very useful in the NBA.

Free throws are much easier to come by in the league, and that’s where Scheierman could thrive. He only took 3.2 per game during his final season with Creighton, and he could certainly surpass that mark at some point during his professional career.

Scheierman isn’t going to have the opportunity to score at a high level on the Celtics. He won’t get enough minutes. But if he was on a worse team, one that could keep him on the court for long stretches, he would get buckets.

He may not be able to do it in his rookie season, but Scheierman has all the talent to be a 20-point scorer in the league if placed in the right situation.
