Jaylen Brown has had quite the summer. There were plenty of wins, including a championship with the Boston Celtics, but mixed in were some very odd moments. Namely, the drama surrounding him and Team USA Basketball.

Team USA won gold in the 2024 Paris Olympics, but when Kawhi Leonard had to leave the team before their run, Brown wasn’t named as a replacement. Instead, it was his Celtics teammate, Derrick White. Based on his Twitter posts, Brown not only took exception to the choice, but he also blamed Nike.

Since then, Brown has done underwater exercises, put out a song with Ferg, and started an initiative, Boston XChange (BXC), that is set to generate $5 billion in generational wealth in communities of color in the city of Boston.

Jaylen Brown is out for blood after villainous message and warning to rest of NBA

Add in his Eastern Conference finals MVP and Finals MVP trophies, and there’s no way to spin Brown’s summer as anything other than a rousing success.

But the sting and drama that came with him not making Team USA is standing above all else, for whatever reason. And Brown plans to use it as motivation.

While responding to comments on a recent Instagram post of his, Brown liked a comment that said, “JB villain year loading…” He responded with a warning for the rest of the league: “I want blood.”

Despite winning a championship, taking home multiple MVP trophies, and enjoying a year of the best basketball he’s ever played, Brown still managed to find motivation this summer. And the rest of the NBA should be terrified of that fact.

The Celtics already have one of the most stacked rosters in the league, and now, one of their stars is ready to put all of his energy into destroying everything in his sights.

Brown’s co-star, Jayson Tatum, also has plenty of motivation behind him heading into the year. While he managed to make Team USA, he was benched in two games, barely played in the other four, and was subjected to a summer full of annoying narratives.

With both stars ready to rock the rest of the NBA next year, the Celtics are in a perfect spot. While some championship teams are prone to take their foot off the gas pedal, Boston is going to do the opposite.

Led by a villainous Brown, they are ready to storm the league.
