4. Jeff Green
The veteran forward had arguably the best years of his career playing for the Celtics. Green spent parts of five seasons in Boston where he averaged 14.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 30.5 minutes per game. The 37-year-old will not be replicating those numbers, but he can still play a crucial role on a contender.
Green helped the Nuggets win the championship in 2023. The 6’8 forward brings size, versatility, and leadership to any roster. He has been through the playoff wars and is comfortable coming off the bench. Green will play whatever role his team needs and make an impact in the locker room.
The Rockets signed him to a two-year contract in the 2023 offseason, but the second season is a $9.6 million team option. Houston needs veterans, especially if they plan to contend in 2025. That is a hefty price to pay for a bench option playing less than 20 minutes each night. Do not be surprised to see the Rockets make him a free agent again this summer.
The Boston Celtics could use a veteran forward at the end of their bench capable of handling 15 to 20 minutes per game. Jeff Green is hungry for a second ring and could get it with his former team.
