The Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors are in shambles. Well, relatively speaking. As the Boston Celtics are parading around their 18th banner, the Lakers and Warriors are trying to find a way to stay relevant an an evolving Western Conference.

Within every fan of any team, there is a little bit of spite. Inside most Bostonians, alongside the blood that bleeds green, is a twinge of hatred for the Lakers and Warriors. And “twinge” may be the biggest undersell of the century.

Latest Lakers, Warriors trade rumors should make Celtics fans giddy

Obviously, the Celtics’ rivalry with the Lakers goes back decades, so that is the most relevant hatred, but fans aren’t quick to forget the Warriors taking down Boston in the 2022 NBA Finals.

But now, neither the Lakers nor Warriors look prepared to content in the Western Conference next year. Meanwhile, the Celtics are revved up and ready to go for a repeat.

All summer, the Lakers and Warriors have been surrounded by rumors.

For the Lakers, it was LeBron James potentially taking a pay cut to play with certain players. It’s D’Angelo Russell constantly being thrown around in trade ideas. It’s big-name star after big-name star being linked to LA.

Then for the Warriors, Klay Thompson’s departure threw a wrench in their roster. They’ve been connected to Lauri Markkanen time and time again, only for rumblings to surface that they don’t want to get rid of Jonathan Kuminga or Brandin Podziemski.

With LeBron James and Stephen Curry leading the respective franchise gives both sides a shot to make a playoff push, but these might be the worst teams we’ve seen from these two clubs in years.

The Celtics have had a wholly boring offseason. They brought back all of their players and aren’t involved in any rumors. It seems highly unlikely that they’ll make any trades outside of fringe moves at the deadline.

But the Lakers and Warriors? They may be surrounded by rumors the whole season. And for Celtics fans who enjoy seeing rivals struggle, that will almost certainly bring a smile to their faces.

As boring as it may be to watch a team simply bring back the entire roster, that’s simply a product of how great the Celtics are. If the rumors are any indication, and they absolutely are, the Lakers and Warriors cannot say the same.
