2. Top 6

No basketball team in the world has a more talented top six than the Celtics. Jayson Tatum is one of the best players in the world and remains in consideration for MVP honors. Jaylen Brown is about to make his third All-Star appearance. Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis, and Al Horford give the Celtics five former All-Stars and that makes no mention of Derrick White, who is one of the best perimeter defenders in the NBA.

Boston has it going on both ends of the floor. Tatum, Brown, and Porzingis are all averaging over 20 points per game. On the other end, Holiday and White form the best defensive backcourt in the NBA with the Unicorn cleaning up in the backline. The Celtics are impossible to stop and difficult to score on. It is a deadly combo that puts them among the title favorites.

Top-end talent wins in the playoffs. The Celtics have the best player in most series. Fans could argue Giannis Antetokounmpo and Joel Embiid are better in the East, but neither the Bucks or 76ers have the depth of top talent. If Tatum is having an off night, the Celtics have five players capable of filling that starring role.

It is not just their shooting, play style, or top-end talent. The Boston Celtics are the best team in the Eastern Conference because they are the most efficient.
