3. Anton Watson - Three-point shooting

There might be a trend starting here, as being a solid three-point shooter is crucial to playing in Boston’s rotation. Anton Watson looked good from beyond the arc in Summer League, but he’s still got plenty of room to grow.

Watson is an NBA-ready defender, extremely versatile, and a better playmaker than most give him credit for. If he can solidify his three-point shot, he should enjoy a long career in the league.

4. Baylor Scheierman - Defense

Defense. Three-point shooting. Defense. Three-point shooting. The two most important skills in the NBA are going to be the most common skills mentioned on this list, and Baylor Scheierman definitely has room to grow as a defender.

He was able to keep up with guys in Summer League but still got scored on far too easily. Scheierman has the body to play solid defense in the NBA, but he needs to work on his positioning and timing.

5. Jordan Walsh - Self-control

Three-point shooting was a major problem for Jordan Walsh in Summer League, so that could be an obvious answer, but the problems go deeper than that. Walsh simply needs to have more self-control.

If the shots aren’t falling and he’s not performing up to par, he can’t let the issues on the court spiral to a point where he’s negatively impacting the team. That happened in Summer League, and it can’t happen in the NBA.
