The Trade: Boston Celtics trade Jaden Springer and the No. 30 Pick in the 2024 Draft for Chicago Bulls' Torrey Craig

Torrey Craig is the prototypical 3-and-D wing the Boston Celtics have been needing for sometime to complete their second unit. The six-foot-seven wing averages a career six points a game to go with four rebounds on a career 45% shooting overall and 35% from three. The three-point percentage jumped to 39% this past season with the Chicago Bulls. 75 career playoff games played adds a winning player to a winning franchise.

The Cs would have to part with Jaden Springer and the 30th pick in the draft. Springer is currently not in the Celtics rotation and would have more of a chance to break into some playing time elsewhere. The 30th pick in the draft is not something the Celts are leaning on to play big minutes. They would've spent the majority of their time in Maine. A championship contender has no time for development projects.

Bleacher Report's Zach Buckley believes Craig's versatility and shooting make him a great fit in the C's rotation behind the Jays.

"Craig may not have that problem, though," Buckley prefaced before saying, "He's a shapeshifting defender who has shot at least 39 percent from three in back-to-back seasons.

"That archetype fits everywhere in the modern league and could look especially enticing in Boston, where the wing rotation thins out in a hurry behind Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown."

We'll see if Brad Stevens has another shrewd move up his sleeve this offseason. And if Craig is seen as a worthy target for that move.
