2. Sam Hauser
Sam Hauser has been a bit of a microwave, showing the propensity to absolutely go on a heater in a short period of time. Just ask the Washington Wizards, who saw him drop 30 points in 23 minutes, while setting a franchise record for most 3-pointers made in a half (7).
Hauser also came within just one trey from matching Marcus Smart's franchise record.
It's what's made him a key cog in Boston's second-unit.
This game was just a glimpse of what the undrafted forward can do. He's really adept at creating open shots for himself and his teammates.
However, role players tend to get stagefright in the playoffs. We've seen this dance before from Hauser specifically. Last postseason, Hauser made 34.5 percent of his shots and just 33.3 percent of his bombs, versus 45.5 percent of his shots and 41.8 percent of his threes during the regular season.
Granted, he only took 1.6 threes per contest, but that's essentially the same volume he had during the regular season. He went from 16.1 minutes per night during the regular season to just 6.9 minutes in last year’s playoffs.
Inconsistent shooting will have that effect. And we know he's never been a formidable defender, which could cause opponents to hunt for the switch.
